Jingwei is a founding member of the Fidelio Orchestra and serves on its Board of Trustees. He has been closely involved in programming, fundraising, and the overall development of the ensemble. He plays in the second violin section.
Jingwei picked up the violin at the age of eight, but it wasn’t until much later—after attending a performance by Julia Fischer with the Boston Symphony Orchestra—that he discovered a deep passion for music. The vibrant energy of the Brahms concerto and the brilliance of a Paganini encore left a lasting impression, and inspired him to commit himself more seriously to music-making and to sharing its joy with others. After moving to London, Jingwei connected with a community of like-minded musicians who would go on to form the core of the Fidelio Orchestra. Since then, he has made the ensemble a central part of his musical life.
Jingwei is particularly passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences for young people. Under the Fidelio banner, he has commissioned and produced two operas for children in China—and is planning further projects in this space.
Outside of music, Jingwei works in the financial services industry. He also enjoys reading and traveling.
